Licensing Update
Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations was renamed to Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain. This led to the separate licensing of the former one unified solution into three module suites. When you purchase, upgrade, or renew your Dynamics 365 you will need to review your licensing carefully with Clients First to ensure your business is compliant with the new licensing structure. Some customers have already gone through this process at the time of their SaaS subscription renewal.
Project Management must also be licensed now. This suite contains the Expense Management Module so please reach out to us if you are using the Projects and Expense Management apps. The seamless integration remains, with the only real change being your licensing. You can keep Project Management, or you can use the new Project Operations. This is another discussion you will need to have with Clients First.
Some customers will end up with a lower monthly price, and some will pay a bit more. The goal for Microsoft is to be able to sell each suite of modules separately which enables customers to implement only what they need often at a better price. Finance, Manufacturing, and now Projects can be licensed as a standalone solution. Please reach out for more information.
Please take some time to review the latest licensing guide. This document will help you understand the current licensing released Oct 2023.
